Not long after the Ractoryas Genocide, Olmaka's and Ashiila's corpses lie where they were butchered. Their spirits are encountered by Tianti, the Star Dragon, who feels sympathy for their fall. She also explains that they have the proper virtues of a king and queen, so she resurrects them as Monarch Dragons, Toruk and Eywa.
They go to the island chain of Dinosauria, where they are given three tasks by the Olympian Dragons; Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. First, Zeus has them scale Mt. Everest in human form to find the Jewel of Wisdom. Then, Poseidon has them search a deep mossy swamp for the Jewel of Courage. Finally, Hades has them search the Underworld for the Jewel of Love. The two work together to find all three jewels, and they are appointed as they new king and queen of all dragons. They swear themselves to this role, despite missing their old lives…
