Episode 18-50
There are rumors of giant spider webs around Mt. Fuji. As the DRF investigates these webs, Nicole and Mikaela both get stuck, and they struggle to get out until Mikaela uses her lighter to burn the web. They discover that only fire can break this extremely sticky web, but it would also risk setting the forests on fire. On Nicole's request, the DRF evacuates all areas surrounding the mountain, and they drop fire bombs that burn most of the webbing. However, this also exposes the source: a giant spider, which causes Nicole to freak out, as she has arachnophobia.
The spider, called Kumonga, heads to Nagoya, where Godzilla has also appeared. Seeing a potential meal, Kumonga attacks, shooting nets of web to trap Godzilla. It prepares to inject Godzilla with lethal venom, but the Kaiju releases a nuclear shockwave that burns the web and injures the spider. Kumonga shoots another strand, but Godzilla catches it and starts swinging the web, with Kumonga still attached, until he lets go, sending the giant arachnid flying into the distance. Kumonga recovers and retreats to a less populated mountain to build a new lair...
