TAC - DESERT TRIBE

(Eric and I discovered these new humans.  Also, this is the end of the Alayssian wildlife project.)

In the third manned expedition to Alayssia, I was accompanied by paleontologists Eric Bower, Robin Backstrand, Bartholomew Michaelson, Tristan, and our new rookie William.  During this we discovered a few new species I haven't documented yet. The Desert Tribe is among them.

Apparently, the Home People are not the only human species in Alayssia.  When Eric and I uncovered the Outside Lands, we found a small group of desperate souls eking out the barest existence possible.  Oddly enough, even the other Alayssians never knew about the existence of the Desert Tribe until we entered the Outside Lands.  At first, we assumed they were descended from survivors of the Genocide, but DNA studies show that this is a cousin of Homo anastasiensis, a species of human perfectly adapted for desert life.  Their skin cells evolved to reflect sunlight, and they don't overheat as much as other humans, which is why they rarely, if ever, sweat.

The clothing of Homo anastasiensis desertus is made of animal skin, and they wear almost nothing, except for what should cover the genitals and breasts.  And like the Beach Tribe, they are hunter-gatherers, eating what protein they can.  These people are not as advanced as the other Alayssian humans and have no construction skills, so they can only find shelter in the ruins found in the desert.  Because of their isolation, they were initially more hostile to us until we showed that we meant no harm.  The Desert Tribe has also come to worship Devastatusaurus as a god and protector, and will occasionally perform sacrifices to appease this superpredator.
