1.13 – Canceling the Apocalypse, pt. 2 (series finale)

Plot:

An epic battle rages near the portal as the Jaegers and Godzilla attempt to destroy Slattern and the portal once and for all.

Full Summary:

Godzilla, Gipsy Danger, and Striker Eureka, engage in a fierce fight against Slattern, Scunner, & Raiju. Raiju manages to tear off Gipsy’s right arm, and he charges at Godzilla, but when he opens his head, Godzilla fires his atomic breath directly into it, burning Raiju from the inside out, leaving only his exoskeleton.

Slattern goes against Striker Eureka and manages to severely damage the Jaeger, but not before Masato uses the Jaeger’s blades to inflict deep wounds. The Kaiju calls for help, and Scunner, who engaged in a brutal fight with Gipsy and Godzilla, responds. Masato and Cody learn that their oxygen supply is cut off and are forced to detonate their bomb early so Shinji and Azusa can finish the mission. As he arms the bombs, Masato sheds a tear and says, “Good-bye, Natsumi. I love you.” He detonates the bomb that engulfs himself, Cody, Striker Eureka, Scunner, and Slattern. The explosion also stuns Godzilla. Shinji and Azusa see this and swear to finish what their father couldn’t. Natsumi sees this kamikaze attack as well, and she screams out his name before bursting into tears.

Gipsy Danger uses Raiju’s corpse to get into the Portal, and Shinji and Azusa arm the Jaeger's nuclear core to self-destruct, and they escape in escape pods. Gipsy Danger explodes, destroying the Portal and ending the threat.

Godzilla surfaces near the kids, but when he looks at them, a badly wounded Slattern, who survived the explosion, attacks Godzilla, impaling him with his barbed tails. Giving Shinji and Azusa their chance to escape, Godzilla uses all the energy within him to self-destruct, killing himself and Slattern in the process, but not before he lets out a tear along with one final roar.

Shinji and Azusa return as heroes, and everyone mourns the deaths of Masato and Godzilla, Natsumi gives a speech.

“Masato was a brave man. He was braver than most of us could ever hope to be. He knew that there could be no victory without sacrifice. And Godzilla? He gave up his life to destroy the deadliest threats. The Age of Kaiju is now over.”

At Mt. Fuji, in an unexplored cave, we see a large oval-shaped object. It turns out to be an egg, and it hatches into… a baby Godzilla.
