Description

Birth of the Gods
Antarctica
248 million years ago

Animals:
-Lystrosaurus
-Euparkeria
-Proterosuchus

Earth has made an astounding recovery since the Permian extinction.  Few mammal-like reptiles remain though.  One species, Lystrosaurus, makes up more than half of all large animals on Earth when it existed; never again will a single species do so well.  Since there are so many Lystrosaurus, predators like the crocodilian relative Proterosuchus keep the populations in check.  As the planet recovers, so does competition, and our ancestors will be confined to the shadows for the remainder of the Mesozoic era.

Elsewhere, the true future rulers of Earth are evolving.  They are archosaurs, which includes the insect-eating Euparkeria.  They may be a nuisance to Lystrosaurus, but they are successful because their hips are evolved to help them stand and run on two legs, an agility never before seen in reptiles.  In about ten million years, Euparkeria and its relatives will give way to one of nature's greatest dynasties: the dinosaurs.  Titans such as Tyrannosaurus rex and Stegosaurus can all trace back to the archosaurs...

I think Phil Collins two worlds finale could work as the ending song for this episode
